This is the software I created to keep track of all my income and expenses as a freelance colorist.

I've tried other accounting/bookkeeping software over the years, but they were either underpowered spreadsheets, or aimed at keeping track of finances for a multinational company.

I wanted something simple, but also able to keep track of income and expenses in multiple currencies. My income has been in US, CDN, and even British Pounds, while my expenses have been in CDN, US, Euros and British Pounds, which makes accounting a bit of pain.

So, I started learning how to design and program, and the end result became Mini Bookeeper. I made it easy to enter data, with dynamic databases that grow. Once you enter something in either Expense Item, Expense Type, Client, or Book/Job Title, they are added to a database so the next time you start to enter it, it will autocomplete it for you.

It also has automated date entries. If you are entering something for the current date, just tab through the date fields and it fills them in with the current date.

You can also export data to a text file that can be imported in Microsoft Excel (mac 2004 version).

The Demo version is available for download. It has no time limit restrictions, nor any on saving.

It does however have certain limitations. Once you enter 20 more items in Income, or 40 or more items in Expenses, the ability to print, or export is turned off. The Expenses Window will not display totals if it exceeds 40 or more items, nor will the Income window display totals if you exceed 20 or more items.

You can still enter new items for expenses and income so that when you decide to purchase a license, the files open normally, without any restrictions of the demo version.

Mini Bookkeeper is mac only, compatible with Tiger and Leopard OS's.
